The Despiau know-how is acknowledged and recognised by the world's leading experts, convinced by our quality requirements.

Wood: The maple wood is rigorously selected and seasons naturally over several years.

Treated or not treated: Since the beginning of CHEVALETS DESPIAU we offer the instrument maker the choice between treated or untreated bridges. Therefore our complete range of products is offered with those two options.
Our natural treatment makes the wood entirely stronger and darker inside and outside the bridge. After years of research and perfectioning our treatment is completely mastered.

Quality:
Our bridges are available in four qualities of wood, two for high level instruments (A and B) and two for student level instruments (C and D):
We apply precise and controlled selection criteria at all production stages.

A Quality

Regular and fine grain, strong medulary rays on the whole surface

B Quality
Regular and fine grain, medulary rays

C Quality
Fairly fine and regular grain, wood with less pronounced medulary rays.

D Quality
Wide and fairly regular grain, wood with less pronounced medulary rays.
